About me
Hi. My name's Lisa. I'm 43. I'm on a mission to know God and to stay right with Him every moment of every day. As hard as it may be to do this on a moment by moment basis, I know that it can be done. The first step is believing in Him. Believing that He exists. Believing that He wants to take care of you, to love you, to protect you, and care for you. Believing = Faith. Faith: that's really an action word, ya know. It's the act of faith that helps you in your every day moment by moment walk in life. Believing in something without feeling it. Without seeing it. That's where I'm at. Learning how to humble myself every day before my God, how to die to myself, how to give Him my all, learning how to trust Him (faith) every moment of ever day. Salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ. FAITH. Faith leads to Repentance and a growing in Holiness to become like Jesus. Christian is an action word also. Did you know that? It is the act of "acting like Jesus". Do you look like the world in any way at all? Do you listen to worldly music thinking ..'eh it's just a song, what’s the harm? Is your conversation clean and pure or do you let curse words or slander or gossip slip in? Do you watch things on TV that you shouldn’t watch? Do you wear clothing that Jesus wouldn’t approve of? Do you smoke or drink? Do you put anything before Jesus, making an idol above him? A Christian is this: One who continually walks in Holiness. Constant communion with God. Serving others. Spreading the gospel to others - friends, family, strangers. Taking captive EVERY thought. Bears fruit and bears only GOOD fruits. NOT a member of this world - Separate from the world - NOT looking like the world. HATED by the world. Being so different from the world that you are looked at like JESUS. That’s the act of “Christian”. And that is my goal in life. To get to that point. I know many that are like that. Yeah I'm sure even at that point you may have moments of weakness, but when you are that point in your life you can quickly repent and turn from it and keep walking that narrow path. I want to act so much like Jesus that He's all that people see when they look at me.
I met my current 2nd husband John online. We are an online success story. We met in January 2001 when I was living in NY and he was in CA. I put an ad in a Christian penpal online website and he responded and the rest is history. We spent close to the next two years getting to know each other through emails, IM's, photos, and phone calls. We sent eachother surveys full of all sorts of fun and interesting questions. I finally moved from NY to CA in Nov. 2002, driving across the country with my two teenage sons. It was the best decision that I ever made, for myself and for my two sons.
